Prosecutor seeks up to 142 years in prison for jailed HDP co-chair
Indictments regarding the jailed co-leaders of the Kurdish issue-focused Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) have been completed, with the prosecutor seeking up to 142 years in jail for Selahattin Demirtaş and up to 83 years in jail for Figen Yüksekdağ.
Bones found in cesspool belong to Turkish man missing under detention 19 years ago
The human bones that have been found in a cesspool in the southeastern province of Mardinâs Kızıltepe district belong to an 18-year-old man who went missing in 1995 under detention.
Abdurrahman Olcay was 18 when he was detained by gendarmerie forces on Oct. 20, 1995 in the Dargeçit district of Mardin. Olcay never returned afterward and was recorded as missing.
