Alleged hotel sale sparks investigation in Varosha
The allegation that three hotels in Turkish Cyprus' Varosha city have been sold to a Turkish businessman by their Greek owners has sparked concerns in the Greek administration as the sale or transfer of real estate in the area opened to civilian visits three years ago after a 46-year hiatus is under the control of a commission.

Incumbent Turkish Cypriot president to seek re-election
The current president of the Turkish Cyprus announced on Feb. 5 that he will contest the 2020 presidential election to be held on April 26.
Mustafa Akıncı told reporters in the capital Lefkoşa that he will run as an independent candidate.

Akinci reportedly threatened to resign over Turkish proposal for Cyprus
Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci reportedly threatened to resign rather than table any proposal for a solution to the Cyprus issue other than a federal system, Turkish Cypriot media reported on Wednesday.
According to daily Kibris Postasi, cited by Cyprus Mail Online, Akinci made the statement during the visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu to the north last April.
