Minister urges Chinese carmaker Chery to invest in Türkiye
Industry and Technology Minister Fatih Kacır has called on Chinese carmaker Chery to invest in Türkiye.
He visited the production facilities of Chery, China's largest automotive exporter since 2012, Kacır wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on Dec. 21.
Japanese agency provides financing for quake relief
The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is providing loans of up to 20 billion yen ($139 million) to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises that were affected by the February earthquakes.
The loan agreement was signed between JICA and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization of Türkiye (KOSGEB) in the capital Ankara.
Turkish defense industry ‘will move forward’
The defense industry is the leading sector of the national technology movement, Industry and Technology Minister Fatih Kacır has said, adding that the sector will be in a much better position than today in the future.

Technology investments to help lower current account deficit
Industry and Technology Minister Fatih Kacır has said during his ministry's budget discussion for 2024 that Türkiye will contribute $7 billion a year to closing the current account deficit by implementing 185 projects focusing on medium and high technology with an investment of $66 billion.

İYİ Party to run solely in all provinces in municipal polls
İYİ (Good) Party leader Meral Akşener has revealed plans to contest all 81 provinces, including key battlegrounds Istanbul and Ankara, in the upcoming local elections without forming any alliances.
The announcement comes as Istanbul and Ankara mayors Ekrem İmamoğlu and Mansur Yavaş, respectively, declared their intentions to seek re-election in the upcoming March municipal elections.

Coming together again three years after their first duet, Turkish pop music stars Edis and Gülşen have collaborated for a new album 'Serdar Ortaç Songs Vol 2.' The musicians performed the song 'Sor' on the album together.
