Arrest warrants out for FETÖ suspects

Turkish security authorities on June 8 launched multiple operations in various provinces to detain suspects affiliated with the FETÖ- the group behind the bloody failed coup attempt of 2016.

Prosecutors issued detention warrants for a total of 33 suspects, including 24 on-duty police force members, and security forces started simultaneous operations in 16 provinces.

More than 70 detained over suspected links to FETÖ

Turkey on June 2 detained 72 people, including on-duty soldiers, over suspected links to FETÖ, the group behind the defeated coup in 2016.

Prosecutors in Istanbul issued arrest warrants for 118 people, including 98 on-duty soldiers, as part of an investigation into FETÖ.

Turkish police carried out anti-terror operations in 35 provinces.

Turkey's Maarif supports Ethiopia in combatting virus

Turkey's educational Maarif Foundation put its campus in Ethiopia into the service of the local government to help its fight against the deadly coronavirus.

Dormitory, cafeteria and health facility buildings of the campus in the eastern Harar city were transferred to the Harar administration to be used to quarantine and treat patients during the outbreak, the foundation said.

Azerbaijani businessman remanded over FETÖ links

A businessman of Azerbaijani origin was remanded into custody by an Istanbul court for having links with the FETÖ, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on March 17.

Mubariz Mansimov Gurbanoğlu and his company's director Nuray Nurcihan Perker were detained by the financial crimes police team as part of an investigation carried out by prosecutors in Istanbul.

New arrest warrant issued for jailed businessman Kavala

A Turkish court issued a new arrest warrant on March 9 against businessman Osman Kavala, who was re-arrested last month after being acquitted in a separate trial, according to local media reports.

Kavala on Feb. 18 was acquitted from charges in connection with Gezi Park protests in 2013. He was re-arrested on Feb. 19, as part of a probe into the defeated coup attempt of 2016.
