Panetolikos 1-2 Panathinaikos: Victory came with Arao securing the top spot

Panathinaikos clinched a crucial 2-1 victory over Panetolikos in Agrinio during the 12th round of the Super League. The winning goal came in injury time, scored by Willian Arao, ensuring Panathinaikos moved to the top of the table. Filip Đuričić opened the scoring for the visitors in the 10th minute, while Giannis Bouzoukis equalized for Panetolikos in the 52nd minute.

Cukrarna hosts charity auction for Ukraine’s Kharkiv

Ljubljana – The Cukrarna art gallery will host a charity auction on Monday evening to raise funds for post-war reconstruction of the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv. Up for sale will be iconic chairs made by Slovenian industrial designer Niko Kralj with a new touch by a number of visual artists. The “reworked” chairs are already on display at Cukrarna.

High-school band wins Slovenia’s Eurosong contest

Ljubljana – LPS or Last Pizza Slice, a band of five teenagers, will represent Slovenia at the 66th Eurovision song contest in Turin with the song ‘Disko’ (Disco) after winning the combined vote from the audience and judges last night.

LPS made it to the final of the national EMA contest as one of the four finalists of EMA Fresh, the competition for young up-and-coming talents.

Slovenia’s Žan Kranjec second in giant slalom

Bormio – Slovenian Alpine skier Žan Kranjec finished second in a World Cup giant slalom race in Italy’s Santa Caterina after clocking in the best time in the first run. The race was won by Croatia’s Filip Zubčić.

Although 69 hundredths ahead of Zubčić after the first run, Kranjec’s second-run pefrormance was not strong enough to secure him his third World Cup win.
