2019 Gaudeamus Fair:Tempting book lovers with thousands of titles, meetings with writing industry's personalities
Thousands of titles, meetings with writers, historians, translators, literary critics and famous journalists, book launches and autograph sessions, debates and contests are the various events the publishing houses will be treating book lovers with at the Gaudeamus Radio Romania Book Fair opening on Wednesday at the Romexpo exhibition compound and running until Sunday.
Philosopher Noica's house at Paltinis to become tourist attraction
Tourism Minister Bogdan Trif said on Wednesday that he will get involved into the house of philosopher Constantin Noica at the Paltinis mountain resort becoming open to visitors. "I have not talked to the owners directly. If the local public administration fails, we, the ministry, will get involved. But normally they should manage it locally. It is a tourist attraction.
Anti-Communist dissident Cornea laid to rest in Cluj-Napoca in military funeral
Hundreds of people attended the military funeral in Cluj-Napoca on Monday of well-known anti-Communist dissident Doina Cornea, in the foyer of the University House near the headquarters of the Babes-Bolyai University, where she used to teach years ago.
More than 400 people, including former Romanian President Emil Constantinescu and poet Ana Blandiana, attended the event.

Bookfest: 300 events, 200 publishing houses, 1 million titles; guest country - Poland
The 9th edition of the International Book Fair Bookfest 2014, hosted in the Romexpo exhibition complex of Bucharest between May 28 and June 1, proposes 300 events of 200 publishing houses, with more than 1,000,000 titles on display, Romanian Publishers Association President Grigore Arsene announced in a press conference on Tuesday, May 27.
