Noted names of the Romanian politics are opening the lists of candidates for the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of the Bucharest electoral constituency. Some have done politics and are returning to this year's elections, others are members of the current Parliament and want a new term as a senator or deputy.
President Iohannis lays wreath at Colectiv Club
President Klaus Iohannis laid a wreath on Wednesday morning in front of Colectiv Club, in the memory of the tragedy which occurred four years ago. On this occasion, the head of state lit a candle and kept a moment of silence before the improvised altar in front of the club in the memory of the victims of the fire which took place on 30 October 2015.

Romania Lifts Immunity of Ex-Minister Oprea
Romanian Senators have decided with 102 votes in favour and only 30 against to lift the immunity of MP Gabriel Oprea, the former interior minister, so he can face a criminal inquiry over his use of motorcades.
While denying wrongdoing, Oprea himself voted in favour of lifting his own immunity from prosecution.

Romania Prosecutor General Steps Down
Romania's top prosecutor Tiberiu Nitu deposited his resignation on Tuesday, with President Klaus Iohannis expected to nominate a successor.
In a statement quoted by Agerpres, Nitu said he was taking the step to "protect the reputation of the prosecutor's office".

Number of Casualties in Bucharest Nightclub Fire Rises
The number of victims affected by the explosion and fire, which engulfed a nightclub in the Romanian capital of Bucharest on Friday, has risen.
According to the latest reports, the fire claimed the lives of 27 people, another 184 were transported to hospital for treatment, while 146 remain admitted for further treatment, AGERPRES news agency informs.
