Featuring Greek musician Takis Paterelis on tenor sax, along with Dimitris Verdinoglou on piano, Giorgos Georgiadis on bass and Panagiotis Themas on drums, the renowned saxophonist will showcase compositions from jazz greats like Thelonious Monk and Tadd Dameron.

Dimitris Kalantzis Quintet | Athens | January 15
The Half Note in downtown Athens presents the Dimitris Kalantzis Quintet in a jazz tribute to Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis. The quintet is made up of Dimitris Kalantzis on the piano, Takis Paterelis on saxophone, Dimitris Papadopoulos on trumpet, Alex-Drakos Ktistakis on drums and Giorgos Georgiadis on bass. Doors open at 8.30 p.m. and the concert starts an hour later.

Super League has 'the best referees money can buy'

Olympiakos stretched its lead at the top of the Super League to six points after beating Asteras Tripolis on Thursday and Panathinaikos went down at Atromitos on Wednesday, but the Greens have huge complaints from the referee of the game at Peristeri.

Anastasiadis pays price for poor string of PAOK results
PAOK has parted company with coach Angelos Anastasiadis, the Greek Super League club announced on Monday.
The 62-year-old's third spell at the helm has come to an end following a goalless draw at home to Asteras Tripolis on Saturday which left the team in third, 10 points adrift of leader Olympiakos Piraeus and seven from second-placed Panathinaikos.
