Turkey, Italy hope for ‘lasting’ truce in Libya

Talks between Libya's warring parties in Moscow, supported by Turkish and Russian officials, are going positively, President Tayyip Erdoğan said on Jan. 13, adding that Ankara was working to ensure the truce became permanent.

Italian premier due to visit Turkey on Jan 13

Italy's Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte on Jan. 13 will pay a working visit to Turkey on the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

In a statement, the Turkish Communications Directorate said the two leaders will discuss bilateral relations and steps that can be taken to improve cooperation between the two countries.

Greece, Israel, Cyprus to sign pipeline deal Jan. 2

The leaders of Cyprus, Greece and Israel plan to sign an agreement early in the new year for the building of the Eastern Mediterranean natural gas pipeline, the Greek prime minister's office announced Sunday.

The agreement will be signed in Athens on Jan. 2 by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Cypriot President Nikos Anastasiades and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
