Two detained over defrauding Fenerbahçe footballer Van der Wiel
Istanbul police detained two people on May 15 over allegations that they committed fraud worth $4.5 million against Gregory Van der Wiel, a Dutch international footballer who plays for Turkish club Fenerbahçe.
Istanbul rivals out for cup derby
A well-motivated Turkish Spor Toto Super League leader Beşiktaş will take on archrival Fenerbahçe on Feb. 5 in a Ziraat Turkey Cup last 16 stage "do or die" game.
Beşiktaş, which climbed to the top of the standings on matchday 18, put five goals past a strong Konyaspor on Jan. 30 to maintain a two-point cushion over Medipol Başakşehir.

Eyes on Dutchmen as Fenerbahçe hosts Feyenoord
A heavy Dutch presence in the Fenerbahçe ranks will ensure plenty of intrigue as Dick Advocaat's team welcomes Feyenoord on Sept. 29 in a Europa League Group A match.
Advocaat will be on the opposite bench from one of his old charges, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, in a game that will give the winner a major advantage in the race to advance from the group stage.

Dutch squad to face Turkey announced
The Netherlands national football squad for the UEFA Euro 2016 qualifiers against Iceland and Turkey in September has been announced by the team's newly appointed manager Danny Blind.
Blind has called on Galatasaray attacking midfielder Wesley Sneijder and Fenerbahçe's new signing from Manchester United, forward Robin van Persie.
