Bulgaria's Dimitrov Secures 1st Victory This Year in Brisbane

Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria has secured a resounding victory over Steve Johnson (US) in the first round of the Brisbane International tennis tournament.

Dimitrov has made it past Johnson at 6:2, 6:3 in his first win for the year.

The game was interrupted briefly at 4:2 during the first set due to strong winds which led the heavy rainfall into the partly covered tennis court.

Djokovic overcomes Dimitrov in Paris

PARIS - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the current world number one in men's tennis, is through to the quarter-finals of the Paris Masters after beating Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 late Thursday.

Djokovic won after nearly two and a half hours of play and is now 6-1 head-to-head against the Bulgarian.

Djokovic eases past Muller, to face Dimitrov

PARIS - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the current world number one in men's tennis, has got off to a successful start of his title defence at the Paris Masters after beating Gilles Muller of Luxembourg 6-3, 6-4 in round two late Wednesday.

Djokovic won after 82 minutes of play and is now 4-0 head-to-head against Muller.

He will next face Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria.

Tennis: Dimitrov, Qureshi Reach 1/4 Finals in Paris Doubles

Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi of Pakistan have made it to the quarterfinals of the doubles tournament in Paris.

They have defeated the UK's Jamie Murray and Brazil's Bruno Soares, the best-performing duo this season.

The game ended 6:4, 6:3, 10:6.

Dominic Thiem (Australia) and Philipp Kohlschreiber (Germany).

Bulgaria's Dimitrov Retains 18th Spot in Global Ranking

Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria has kept his 18th place in the ATP ranking, the association's website shows.

Dimitrov returned to the world's Top 20 after picking up this summer, following more than a year of heavy defeats which caused him to sing down the world ranking.

Lucas Pouille and Richard Gasquett, both from France, are No 17 and 19, respectively.

Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov To Play at Sofia ATP Tour Event

Bulgaria's tennis player Grigor Dimitrov (ranked 18th in the ATP world rankings) has announced that he will participate in the tennis tournament in Sofia with prize money to the amount of EUR 520,070.

The tournament will be held in Sofia in February 5-12 at Arena Armeets.

This is the second edition of the tournament under the aegis of ATP.
