Bulgaria's top tennis player Grigor Dimitrov and his doubles partner Kei Nishikori (Japan) have defeated the tandem of Lukas Dlouhy (Czech Republic) and Dominic Thiem (Austria) on the first day of the season-opening Brisbane International tournament on Sunday.

The US sports magazine Sports Illustrated identified the highest ranking Bulgarian male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov as the disappointment of the year in men's tennis.

According to the magazine, "expectation is continuing to trounce achievement".

The tickets for the first ever ATP tournament to be held in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia will go on sale on Wednesday afternoon at 17:00 EET.

The prices of the tickets, which can be purchased in the network of Eventim (online at eventim.bg), range between BGN 10 and BGN 80.

This is Nadal's seventh, out of seven, defeat over Dimitrov.

In the first round played on Tuesday, Dimitrov defeated the Ukrainian Sergiy Stakhovsky with 6:3, 6:4, proceeding to the second round, which will take place on Wednesday.
