Difficult, But Successful Start for Dimitrov in Monte Carlo

Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov qualified for the 2nd round of the Masters tournament in Monte Carlo by beating Marcel Granollers 6:2, 4:6, 6:2.

The match was going according to plan for the Bulgarian, as he took the first set comfortably. After an even second set until 3:3, the Spaniard took his first break of serve and followed on to win 6:4.

Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov Climbs to 14-th Place

Bulgaria's tennis player Grigor Dimitrov reached the 14-th position in the ATP world rankings. 

Dimitrov, who is Bulgaria's most successful tennis player so far, has reached the record position, after the former holder Tommy Roberdo dropped to the 18-th place. 

On Tuesday Dimitrov will start in the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters against Marcel Granollers. 

Dimitrov Takes Davis Cup Lead for Bulgaria in Athens

Bulgaria took a 1:0 lead over Greece in Davis Cup tennis, after Grigor Dimitrov defeated Markos Kalovelonis 6:3, 6:3, 6:0.

The world number 15 Bulgarian took just over an hour and a half to beat his Greek opponent, ranked 690th, and take the lead for his country in Athens. Dimitrov did not lose a single service game along the way.

Bulgarian tennis star Grigor Dimitrov was in Sofia on Saturday, where he gave a press briefing, after holding a training session for young talents at the Maleevi Tennis Club

"Every morning, you must wake up with a positive thought, with a high goal. Persistence is the formula for success. You must give the best of yourself at all times", Dimitrov told the aspiring kids.
