Former footballer Zafer Biryol, who was wanted for "being a member of an armed terrorist organization," has been caught in an operation against FETÖ's "football structure" in Istanbul's Büyükçekmece district.

He was found to attend the FETÖ's meetings, visit Fethullah Gülen, the ringleader of the organization, in 2006 and have an account in Bank Asya, a FETÖ-linked bank.

An Istanbul court on Aug. 28 ordered the arrest of former Turkish international goalkeeper Ömer Çatkıç over allege links to the network of the Fethullah Gülen, the main suspect in the cases into the July 15, 2016 coup attempt.

More than 7,000 people were dismissed with a new state of emergency decree published in the Official Gazette on July 14.

A total of 7,395 dismissals were carried out and 312 public workers were reinstated to their posts with the decree.

All I'm going to do is list a number of recent developments reported in the Turkish media over the past couple of days. I'll start with the most recent case demonstrating the state that Turkey is in:

The Galatasaray sports club's executive board has expelled former footballers Hakan Şükür and Arif Erdem, hours after government members criticized the club for voting to keep them as members at a general assembly.

Turkey's sports minister and a deputy prime minister have criticized Galatasaray's decision not to publically disown two former footballers known to have ties with the network of U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, widely believed to have orchestrated the failed July 15, 2016 coup attempt.
