Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) has received the 20th Ayd?n Do?an Award in a ceremony held in Istanbul, marking the first instance of a state institution being recognized by the Ayd?n Do?an Foundation. 

Do?an Holding has categorically denied accusations against the group and honorary chairman Ayd?n Do?an, saying the indictment made public on March 17 "is a new example of judicial oddities in our country."

The Do?an Group has condemned U.S. Republican candidate Donald Trump's recent controversial remarks about Islam and Muslims, saying their economic ties with Trump cannot continue as before.

Speaking on behalf of the Do?an Group, Vice Chairwoman Hanzade Do?an Boyner said she wrote in a letter to Trump officials that she as a "devout Muslim" criticized Trump.

The 32nd Ayd?n Do?an International Cartoon Competition Awards were distributed during a ceremony on Nov. 17, with Albanian cartoonist Agim Sulaj receiving top prize for giving a voice to terror threat across the world.

Organized by the Ayd?n Do?an Foundation (ADV), founded by its honorary president Ayd?n Do?an, the awards ceremony was held at the Trump Towers in Istanbul on Nov. 17.

The education and rights of girls were discussed at a conference in Istanbul titled "Empowered Girls, Strong Tomorrows," participated in by the Ayd?n Do?an Foundation and representatives from the United Nations.

The conference was held to mark the U.N.'s International Day of the Girl Child, which aims to promote girls' rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world.

Freedom of the press must be protected in Turkey without any exceptions, Vuslat Do?an Sabanc?, the chairwoman of daily Hürriyet, told a meeting held to mark the 67th anniversary of the newspaper on Sept. 1. 

The 19th Ayd?n Do?an Award was presented to Turkey?s Nobel laureate writer Orhan Pamuk on April 16 at the Istanbul Hilton Hotel. 

The selection committee said Pamuk was rewarded for ?masterfully bringing together the eastern and western poles and being one of masters representing Turkish novels in the world.?
