With Androulakis’ re-election to the leadership almost certain after the first-round election results, PASOK had only a gain of 31,000 members and friends yesterday, as turnout once again rose to just over 300,000 citizens, up from 272,000 in 2021 and 400,000 in 2015 for ND.

The President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, is scheduled to visit the Stoa of Attalos at 18:45, where she will be presented with the “Democracy Award of the City of Athens” by Athens Mayor Haris Doukas, as part of the Athens Democracy Forum. The award recognizes her significant contributions to the promotion of democratic values.

The six PASOK leaders’ candidates appear ready for the first “half-time” of the race, attempting in the 24 hours remaining until next Sunday to “open up” to wider audiences and attract as many undecided voters as possible around their candidacy.

Doukas emphasized the “national significance” of the October 6 internal party election, calling for renewed support to establish a major democratic force that addresses modern challenges. He highlighted the urgent need for a revitalized health system and economic relief, particularly in addressing high fuel prices and rising costs.

Former Athens Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis reiterated his call for current Mayor Harris Doukas to delegate his responsibilities to a deputy while Doukas runs for the PASOK leadership.
