Four more suspects, including two special operations police, have been arrested in the investigation launched into the assassination of the former head of the ultra-nationalist group, Grey Wolves, bringing the total number to 10.

Painter Haydar Özay, the son of the 21-year gardener of Istanbul's Gezi Park, has spent his life there. He has recently finished a huge, 50-square meter painting of the park, which will be on view from May 30, the second anniversary of the Gezi protests. 

A total of six imprisoned defendants out of 22 involved in the case of 21-year-old Hasan Ferit Gedik, who was shot dead during a march against drug dealers in the Istanbul Anatolian-side neighborhood Gülsuyu in September 2013, were released on April 7.

The hearing into the killing of Hasan Ferit Gedik, a leftist protester shot during a protest against drug dealers last year in Istanbul’s Gülsüyu neighborhood, has been canceled for a second time after the Court argued that the courtroom was not adequate enough to proceed with the trial.

The first hearing on the killing of 21-year-old Hasan Ferit Gedik after a number of people were raked with bullets Sept. 30, 2013 while marching against drug dealers in the Anatolian-side neighborhood Gülsuyu was canceled Aug. 14, citing poor security conditions.
