James Bond’s latest mission to save King’s coronation
Legendary spy James Bond faces a race against time to save King Charles III's upcoming coronation in a new story to be released ahead of the May 6 ceremony, it was revealed on March 31.
Author, actor and comedian Charlie Higson has been commissioned to write the book, in which Bond has to thwart plans to disrupt the coronation ceremony, according to Ian Fleming Publications.
Bond star Daniel Craig receives same medal as 007
James Bond actor Daniel Craig on Oct. 18 received the same honor held by his fictional character, as he is set to retire from the role.
The 54-year-old British actor who played Bond for the fifth and final time in 2021 film "No Time To Die," was made a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George, a rare honor that author Ian Fleming bestowed on his fictional agent.

Britain's favorite superspy left his mark on Hollywood on Oct. 6 when Daniel Craig got a star on the Walk of Fame.
The world's suavest action hero was immortalized - appropriately - outside 7007 Hollywood Boulevard, next to fellow Bond actor Roger Moore.

In Memoriam: Spy Novels Legend John le Carre Dies Aged 89
British best-selling author David Cornwell, better known as John le Carre whose Cold War-era spy novels transformed the espionage genre, died over the weekend, his literary agent said. He was 89 years old.
His family said le Carre died Saturday night in Cornwall, Britain, from pneumonia after a short battle with the illness.

British lawmakers say the country's intelligence agencies, which inspired James Bond, are not doing enough to promote real-life Jane Bonds.
A report on women in the intelligence services says female staff are being held back by a layer of middle managers, dubbed "the permafrost," who have "a very traditional male mentality and outlook."
