Russian warplane slammed into a residential building in the Siberian city of Irkutsk on Sunday, killing both crewmembers, authorities said. It was the second time in less than a week that a combat jet crashed in a residential area in Russia.

For the second time in a week, a Russian military plane has crashed into a residential building. A Su-30 fighter jet fell on a two-story house in Irkutsk, TASS reported. The information was confirmed in "Telegram" by the governor of the district, Igor Kobzev.

A fire swept through a Russian home for people with mental illnesses, killing 23 patients and injuring another 23, the emergency services said on Dec. 13.

The remaining 24 patients were safely evacuated, including some who had to be carried out of the building, and the four medical personnel working at the home were unhurt, they said.
