Metodi Baikushev (WCC-DB) won with 50.21% over the previous mayor Ilko Stoyanov (independent), who won 47.24% support. The data is for 100% processed protocols in the Regional Election Committee (REC).

Metodi Baikushev is the new mayor of Blagoevgrad, according to data with 100% processed protocols in the Regional Central Committee.

There are only 7 reports of election violations.

It is highly likely that Varna will have a new mayor, and that person is likely to be Blagomir Kotsеv (pictured). Data from polling agencies currently give Kotsеv, supported by PP-DB, a slight lead over Ivan Portnih. However, the outcome remains uncertain as Blagomir Kotsеv is ahead by only around 4%. This marks a turnaround from the first round when Portnih from GERB had about a 5% lead.

By 11 am, 100% of the tally sheets in 14 regional capitals were processed - Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, Vidin, Gaborov, Dobrich, Kardzhali, Lovech, Montana, Pazardhik, Pernik, Razgrad, Ruse, Silistra, Sliven, Smoylan, Haskovo and Yambol.

After yesterday's local elections, mayors have been elected in the first round in 8 of the regional cities, while in the others a runoff will be held next Sunday (November 5).

In the first round, the mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov (picture), was elected from GERB for a fifth term (with 60.42% and 72.81% of the votes cast).

In a reduced composition, Bulgaria's Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced the final distribution of seats in the 46th National Assembly. GERB leader Boyko Borissov will not be an MP.
