Gov't approves memorandum on the General Transport Master Plan: investments estimated at 45.45 billion euros
The government on Wednesday passed a memorandum regarding Romania's General Transport Master Plan, a document establishing that the total investments needed will reach up to 45.45 billion euros until 2030 for such road, rail, maritime and air infrastructure projects, Minister of Transportation, Ioan Rus, made the announcement at the Victoria Palace.
Transport minister: Current Comarnic-Brasov motorway project must be restructured
The project of the motorway linking Comarnic to Brasov (north of the capital) will go on if the authorities manage to restructure it, namely to find a financial model to be more efficient for the Romanian budget, in the achievement of which such international financial institutions as the EIB and the EBRD should take part, Transport Minister Ioan Rus told AGERPRES on Saturday.
Romania Plans to Double Highway Network
Romania plans to build around 725 km of new highways and 1,809 km of express roads in the next 15 years, spending around 28.6 billion euro on expanding the country's poor road infrastructure, the Transport Ministry announced in its new "Master Plan".

Romania to Speed Up Highway Construction
Romania plans to build 656km of new highways in the next 15 years, spending around 6.3 billion euro on expanding the country's poor road infrastructure, the Transport Ministry announced in its new "Master Plan".
"Romania needs an extended and better road infrastructure and we are determined to build it," the Transport Minister, Ioan Rus, said.
