Bishop Vartholomaios of Megara and Salamina dies
Greek Bishop Vartholomaios of Megara and Ioannina died at the age of 86 on Wednesday.
Born in 1928 in Athens, Vartholomaios studied law and theology at the Athens University before entering the clergy in 1954. He was appointed metropolitan bishop of Megara and Salamina in 1974.
His funeral will take place in Megara on Friday.

Bishop Theoklitos of Ioannina dies
Greek Bishop Theoklitos of Ioannina, who died on Sunday at the age of 83, is to be buried Wednesday.
He had recently been hospitalized at the Ioannina University hospital for an unspecified illness.
Born in 1930 in Thessaloniki, Theoklitos became metropolitan bishop of Ioannina in 1975.
