Fenerbahçe continued its good run in the Turkish Süper Lig, claiming its seventh win in its last eight games by beating Galatasaray 2-0 on April 10 and climbing up to the second spot.

Miha Zajc scored the opener in the 26th minute for the home side against its archrival, while Serdar Dursun added another in the 68th minute to give Fenerbahçe three points.

Turkish Süper Lig leader Trabzonspor will be out to extend its stay atop the standings when it visits Alanyaspor on Feb. 20 for a Week 26 game.

The Black Sea side leads the league by 12 points ahead of second-placed Konyaspor thanks to a 1-0 win last weekend over its closest rival in a season usual title chasers are far from their glory days.

Turkish champions Fenerbahçe named assistant coach Ismail Kartal as coach on Aug. 12 to replace Ersun Yanal who resigned at the weekend, the club said in a statement.

Kartal had been serving as the assistant coach since 2010, three seasons under Aykut Kocaman and one under Yanal.
