World War II, 1945: Restoration of the Romanian administration in Northeastern Transylvania
On March 9, 1945 the Romanian administration was re-established in Northeastern Transylvania. A festive meeting was organized on the occasion in Cluj on March 13, 1945, with King Mihai, Prime Minister Petru Groza and the first deputy of the Soviet People's Commissioner for Foreign Affairs, A.I. Vyshinsky, attending.
POST-REVOLUTION ROMANIA, 1990: Official authorization of the Christian Democratic National Peasant Party
January 8, 1990 saw the authorization, by the Bucharest Municipal Court, of post-communist Romania's first political party - the Christian Democratic National Peasant Party (PNTCD) led by Corneliu Coposu (b. May 20, 1914 - d. November 11, 1995).

More than 100,000 people are expected to gather at Alba Iulia - the flagship city of the Greater Union where the union of Transylvania and Romania was proclaimed 100 years ago - for the December 1 celebrations, city mayor Mircea Hava announced this week, as he presented the official program of the events to take place on Romania National Day.
