The Bulgarian prosecutor's office has three months to decide what steps it will take in the money laundering probe against former deputy speaker of parliament Hristo Biserov.

The former deputy chairperson of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) made use of his right and has asked for the probe into money laundering against him to be suspended or referred to court.

The Bulgarian prosecutor's office demanded on Monday a four-year imprisonment for the former deputy speaker of parliament Hristo Biserov.

Sofia City Court (SGS) is to deliver its judgement on Tuesday, daily Dnevnik informs.

The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office has resubmitted an indictment against Hristo Biserov, former Deputy Parliament Speaker and former MP from liberal party Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS).

The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office submitted the indictment against Biserov on April 9 but on May 5 it was returned for revision.

Sofia City Court has terminated the legal case against former Deputy Parliament Speaker, Hristo Biserov. The indictment has been returned to the Prosecutor's Office, as announced by the court's press service.

The reason behind the development has been violation in the description of the case. the decision can be appealed in the following seven days.

Lawsuits brought by authorities against Bulgarian Parliament ex-Deputy Speaker Hristo Biserov and his stepson will be worth over BGN 7 M, an official has said.

"This is the sum that, as we maintain, has passed through bank accounts and is of inexplicable origin," Plamen Georgiev, who heads Commission for Illegal Assets Forfeiture (CIAF) told private national NOVA TV station.

The measure was requested by the Commission for Illegal Assets Forfeiture (CIAF), according to reports of the BGNES news agency.
