Brussels – Dutch MEP Sophie in ‘t Veld (Renew) has invited PM Janez Janša to Brussels to take part in a discussion on the media in Slovenia that is expected to take place in March, public broadcaster TV Slovenija reported on Monday.

Brussels – The Brussels-based web portal Politico has published an extensive analysis of the media situation in Slovenia based on talks with Slovenian journalists and foreign observers, in which it says that “Prime Minister Janez Janša’s attacks create climate of fear”. Janša congratulate new Italian prime minister
Ljubljana – Prime Minister Janez Janša has congratulated Mario Draghi on becoming the new prime minister of Italy, saying he looked forward to a strengthening of relations.
“I am looking forward to further strengthening our good neighbourly relations and cooperation in many areas, both regionally, in Europe and globally,” Janša wrote on Twitter in English.

Four parties demand debate on hate speech
Ljubljana – Deputy groups of the coalition New Slovenia (NSi), Democrats (SDS), Modern Centre Party (SMC), the opposition National Party (SNS) and both minority MPs have requested a session of the parliamentary interior and justice committees regarding what they see as stepping up of ideology-based hostility, ostracising and attacks.
