BELGRADE - Serbia's top-ranked tennis player Novak Djokovic announced on Tuesday he would miss the ATP Finals in Turin due to an injury problem.

"It's quite an honor to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin. I was really looking forward to being there, but due to ongoing injury I won't be playing next week," Djokovic wrote in an Instagram post.

Bulgaria's top tennis player Grigor Dimitrov has risen by one position in the ATP world rankings and currently holds the ninth spot, displacing Australian player Alex de Minaur. The updated rankings reveal Dimitrov's progress after reaching the finals of the tournament in Stockholm, where he lost to American Tommy Paul.

SHANGHAI - Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic lost to Italian Jannik Sinner 7-6(7-4), 6-3 in the final of the Shanghai Masters tournament on Sunday.

Sinner won after an hour and 39 minutes of play.

Djokovic failed to win his 100th career title in Shanghai but will make another attempt at the feat at the Paris Masters, which begins on October 26.

SHANGHAI - Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic is through to the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters after a 6-7 (4-7), 6-1, 6-3 victory over Czech Jakub Mensik on Friday.

Djokovic, who won after two hours and 20 minutes of play, will next face American Taylor Fritz, who defeated Belgian David Goffin 6-3, 6-4 earlier in the day.

SHANGHAI - Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, who is seeded in the first round of the Shanghai Masters, will face the winner of the tie between American Alex Michelsen and Chinese Yunchaokete Bu in the second round of the tournament.

Grigor Dimitrov, the most successful Bulgarian tennis player in history, remains in the top ten of the world rankings, maintaining his position since reentering the top 10 on April 1 of this year. Dimitrov is currently ranked tenth with 3,965 points, dropping one spot after his quarterfinal performance at the US Open.

Just hours after his triumph at the Cincinnati Masters, which he won with ease, it was announced that Jannik Sinner had tested positive for doping.
