French fashion pioneer Pierre Cardin dies aged 98
French designer Pierre Cardin, who shook up the fashion world with his visionary creations but also turned his name into a money-spinning global brand, died on Dec. 29 aged 98.
Cardin won renown in postwar Europe with his futurist designs that looked like they had arrived from another planet, but he also used his business acumen to create the first truly global fashion empire.

In Memoriam: Fashion World Bids Farewell to Pierre Cardin
Legendary French fashion designer Pierre Cardin has died at the age of 98.
Cardin was credited with helping revolutionize fashion with his futuristic designs in the 1960s and 70s.
He was also a pioneer in business, licensing his name to be used on a range of products such as sunglasses.
He died in hospital in Neuilly, near Paris, his family told the AFP news agency.
International Theater Day
Today we mark the International Theater Day.
The date March 27 was elected in 1961 at the 19th Congress of the International Theater Institute at UNESCO, and was associated with the opening of the 1962 Nationale Theater in Paris.

Chanel’s ‘Cruise Show’ inspired by Ancient Greece! (PHOTOS)
Ancient Greece with a modern flair was recreated in style on Wednesday during Chanel’s Cruise show in Paris, which was put together by the well-known fashion showman, Karl Lagerfeld.
The collection titled The Modernity of Antiquity showcased Chanel’s typical tweed with a twist of Greek as well as chiffon creating the look of a Greek goddess.
Bulgaria Marks World Theater Day with Ikar Awards
The Bulgarian Actors Union is organizing on Monday its annual ceremony for bestowing the "IKAR" awards on the occasion of the International Day of Theater.
The ceremony, which in 2017 is dedicated to several anniversaries this time will be held under the dome of the circus "Balkan" in the new park "Vuzrajdane", announced the organizers of the event.

Romanian Parliament Votes Approval for Former FinMin's Arrest
The Romanian National Directorate (DNA) has requested that that the former Finance Minister Darius Valcov should be arrested.
Local Senate has officially approved the request, after Valcov himself appeared in front of MPs and made a statement that he would welcome a lawsuit as it will be a chance for him to prove his innocence, as reported by Romania Insider.
