Locarno Film Festival opens
Switzerland's Locarno Film Festival opens tomorrow with Shah Rukh Khan, Jane Campion, Alfonso Cuaron and Irene Jacob set to be honored with special awards.
Founded in 1946, Locarno is one of the world's longest-running annual film festivals and focuses on auteur cinema.

Cannes 2019: All the Swallows of the World
The 72nd Cannes Festival opened this week with a disappointing 'Zombie' picture, "The Dead Don't Die" of the American indie director, Jim Jarmusch. Despite some of its laughable scenes, the pic added nothing new to the "genre," which is mostly used as a metaphor to criticize the consumer society of today.

Cannes Film Festival: 2019 Lineup
The festival announced its lineup on Thursday, with a slate that includes four female directors in competition for the Palme d'Or prize.
The Dead Do not Die zombie movie will open the racing program. It is the work of American independent director Jim Jarmusch, who in 1984 received the Golden Palm Prize.

Steven Soderbergh is showing me a collage he’s been making. Half-finished, it sits on a table in his New York office. Composed entirely of movie stars in character, the work gives pride of place to Robert De Niro as a mohawked Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver. He’s flanked by River Phoenix, John Belushi, Sacha Baron Cohen, Dennis Hopper and Catherine Deneuve.
Open-air film festival throughout summer in Istanbul
UNIQ Istanbul and Başka Sinema (Another Cinema) are jointly organizing a new festival this summer, the UNIQ Open-air Film Festival.
FEST Remains Serbia's Most Vital and Provocative Film Festival
Under the slogan "Look!", this year's festival boasts a programme of more than 90 new films, including blockbusters with Oscar-nods and some of the best films that domestic directors have to offer.
Starting on February 24, the festival will last until March 5 - a full ten days.
Festival on Wheels to hit the road for the 22nd time in Turkey
It's that time of the year again, when one of Turkey's oldest film festivals, the Festival on Wheels, gets ready to take on the road for two weeks. The festival will kick off in Ankara on Nov. 25, staying in the capital for a week before traveling to Eskişehir from Dec. 2 to 4 and ending its journey in the northern province of Kastamonu, staying there from Dec. 5 to 7.
Movie buffs set to descend on Thessaloniki for 57th TIFF
Jim Jarmusch, Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Turkish filmmaker Zeki Demirkubuz and local soccer club PAOK are just some of the stars of this year's Thessaloniki International Film Festival.
Filmekimi tickets on sale
This year's Filmekimi film festival, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) for the 15th time, is set to begin soon. The event will bring cinephiles together in several cities across Turkey with outstanding films. The festival's Istanbul leg will be held between Oct. 7 and 16, while also visiting other cities throughout the month of October.
