Ljubljana – Cankarjev Dom, Slovenia’s biggest arts and culture centre, will host the premiere of the ballet A Viennese Evening on Thursday night. The ballet diptych, choreographed by Renato Zanella, is a co-production of Cankarjev Dom and SNG Ljubljana Opera and Ballet.

As the giant digital clock strikes 9 p.m., bursts of water surge from the fountains, lit up in colour and dancing to the music of Johann Strauss, Pharrell Williams and sprightly Romanian songs.

The Underground Youth Orchestra - a local act founded in 2010 by people meeting in a basement to play music which today comprises 45 music students and four professionals - presents "Almost New Year's," a celebratory concert at the Benaki Museum's Pireos Street annex.

The Istanbul State Opera and Ballet (IDOB) will present a Vienna-themed concert for the New Year, performing a program made up of works by famous Austrian composer Johann Strauss. The concert will take place on Dec 27 at Zorlu PSM and on Jan 3 and 5, 2019 at the Kadıköy Süreyya Opera.

Greek National Opera singers will perform a medley of songs from well-known operettas at To Treno sto Rouf. The program includes pieces by Johann Strauss, Theofrastos Sakellaridis and Franz Lehar, among others. Performances take place on Wednesday, December 21 and December 28, at 9.30 p.m. Admission is set at 12 euros.

As part of her world tour for her new album, Canadian jazz queen Krall will take the stage on Oct.

The Ankara State Opera and Ballet (ADOB) will welcome the 2015-2016 season with a rich repertoire, featuring more than 25 works on the stage.

The Gypsy Philharmonic Orchestra or as the Bulgarian audience knows them, the 100 gypsy violins are currently the Guinness record holders in the category of the largest symphonic orchestra in the world to be playing without notes.

''Gypsies are so sensitive to the music they play that the audience can not only hear it, but also see it,'' members of the band commented.
