The German special envoy for Macedonia, Johannes Haindl, arrives in Skopje on Tuesday and is expected to revive Macedonia crisis talks as anti-government protester's patience runs thin.

Ivanov's move to revoke all the pardons on Monday came after the EU and US said that his decision ten days ago to withdraw pardons for 22 of the 56 suspects, mainly top politicians, was not enough to revive efforts to resolve the country's political crisis and reverse the damage caused by issuing the pardons in the first place.

US and EU diplomats have confirmed that they are in touch with government officials and the opposition in Macedonia - but have not disclosed details of the ongoing talks.

Unofficially, diplomatic sources told BIRN that they have failed to bring the main ruling VMRO DPMNE party and the opposition Social Democrats, SDSM, any closer.
