Prime Minister Boyko Borisov talks with his Finnish counterpart, Juha Sipilä, reported NovaTV. 

The two spoke at Helsinki's government residence Kesäranta. The focus of the meeting was on the European perspective of the countries of the Western Balkans, security and border control, education, energy and tourism, the press center of the Council of Ministers announced.

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov will be on a working visit to Finland today and tomorrow.

Finland said on Wednesday it would push the European Union to step up efforts to curb illegal migration by negotiating agreements with Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia.

European leaders are due at a summit on Thursday to discuss results from their recent migration compacts with five African countries - Niger, Nigeria, Mali, Senegal and Ethiopia.

After two days of heated negotiations in Brussels, leaders from the EU and Turkey agreed on Friday on the controversial refugee deal aimed at stemming the refugee and migrant flow to Europe.

Under the terms of the agreement, Greece will start sending back migrants to Turkey from Sunday onwards.

The European Council has said an agreement was reached between all 28 countries of the bloc and Turkey on a deal that is expected to ease pressure that hundreds of thousands of migrants have been applying on Europe over the past year.

European Union leaders approved on March 18 a migration deal with Turkey, Finland's Prime Minister Juha Sipila said on Twitter.

"The Turkey deal was approved," Sipila said. 

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi renewed his call on Feb. 13 for firms to invest in India and turn it into a global manufacturing hub, painting the country as a bright spot for investment in an uncertain world economy.

Finland’s government launched measures to tighten its immigration policy according to which  asylum seekers will be asked to work for free and to acknowledge a “national curriculum” on Finnish culture and society.

The government will also create an information package on Finnish culture and society stressing the rights of women and children.

Finland has emerged as the eurozone’s worst performing economy after contracting 0.6% in the third quarter. The union has been stagnant for the last three years. It’s economic problems are mainly due to a collapse in trade with Russia, highly uncompetitive labor costs and the decline of its successful Nokia.

During a joint press conference with Finland’s Prime Minister Juha Sipila, German Chancellor Angela Merkel urged EU member-states to ‘respect their moral obligation’ and offer their support Greece in guarding her borders from the influx of refugees and migrants.
