Berlin fest cheers mum’s fight for son at Guantanamo

British filmmaker Ken Loach announced on Aug. 14 that he has been expelled from the Labour Party.

"Labour HQ finally decided I am not fit to be a member of their party, as I will not disown those already expelled," the 85-year-old wrote on Twitter.
Cannes Film Festival: 2019 Lineup
The festival announced its lineup on Thursday, with a slate that includes four female directors in competition for the Palme d'Or prize.
The Dead Do not Die zombie movie will open the racing program. It is the work of American independent director Jim Jarmusch, who in 1984 received the Golden Palm Prize.

This year's Filmekimi film festival, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) for the 15th time, is set to begin soon. The event will bring cinephiles together in several cities across Turkey with outstanding films. The festival's Istanbul leg will be held between Oct. 7 and 16, while also visiting other cities throughout the month of October.
