Nurses go out on a daily protests, until their demands for higher pay and better working conditions are met. Their decision was made after a meeting with the health authorities, which took place yesterday afternoon. Expression of discontent will begin at 3:00 pm before the Health Ministry.
 

Almost half of Bulgarian students aged between 14 and 18 use energy drinks, Minister of Health Kiril Ananiev announced today in parliamentary scrutiny. He referred to a survey in 2014, examining the risk factors for the health of Bulgarians in which 683 students were interviewed.

Nurses from all over the country go to a national protest demanding a decent pay for their work, reported the Bulgarian National Television.

They insist on a starting salary of two minimum wages and regulation of working hours. Many of the nurses are doing extra work, claiming they are not paid or working in several places.

"No hospital will be closed during my term of office, the money for health care is increased every year, and therefore I want solutions.

The Parliament tasked Minister of Health Kiril Ananiev with presenting an action plan by April 1, 2019 with concrete steps for Bulgaria to become a member of Eurotransplant. The MPs unanimously approved the proposal from BSP with 144 votes in favour, none against and no abstentions, Focus News Agency reports.

An analysis of all psychiatric hospitals, mental health centers and psychiatric wards, including the building stock and equipment, has been made and I have informed the Cabinet of their condition, Health Minister Kiril Ananiev told journalists at the Council of Ministers.
 

Every year five Bulgarians who need a lung transplant will be operated in a clinic in Vienna, said Minister of Health Kiril Ananiev after a meeting with Prof. Walter Klepetko who leads the thoracic surgery clinic at the university hospital in Vienna, Focus News Agency reports.

Today, the Prime Minister Boyko Borissov will meet with the Minister of Health Kiril Ananiev and Prof. Walter Klepetko at the Council of Ministers, the government press service announced.
 
Professor Walter Klepetko is President of the European Breast Surgery and Lung Transplantation Association and head of the Clinic of Pulmonary Surgery at Vienna University Hospital (ACH).

Bulgaria's Minister of Health Kiril Ananiev met in Sofia with the National Transplant Coordinator of Croatia Dr Mirela Bušić, reported the Bulgarian National Radio.

Minister Ananiev and Mirela Bušić discussed Croatia's experience in the field of organ donation and transplantation. Croatia is one of the leading countries in the field of transplantation.

 The annex is an upgrade compared to the current framework agreement and a good basis for the expected changes to really happen after January 1, 2019, said Minister of Health Kiril Ananiev at the signing of the annex to the national framework agreement in healthcare, Focus News Agency reports.
