Olympiakos has become the first Greek club to win a European cup as on Wednesday it defeated Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final in Athens.

The Reds defeated the Italian team 1-0 in extra time and triggered a night-long party across Greece, thanks to a goal five minutes from the end of the additional 30 minutes.

Olympiakos and PAOK remain in with a chance to qualify to the semifinals of the Europa Conference League after Thursday's first-leg games, with the Piraeus giant beating Fenerbahce 3-2 at home and the Thessaloniki team going down 1-0 at Club Bruges.

Lamia inflicted a shocking loss on Olympiakos at the start of the new year in the Super League, while the other three title rivals scored comfortable home wins.

The four teams leading the Super League table scored wins of varying difficulty, as leader Panathinaikos continues to enjoy a four-point distance from its chasing pack after the federation's appeals court upheld on Friday the original decision for the Greens getting all three points from the derby with Olympiakos.

PAOK triumphed at Olympiakos on Sunday after AEK stumbled at Kifissia on Saturday, allowing Panathinaikos to open a four-point gap at the top of the Super League table.

The Greens had a tough match at fifth-placed Lamia on Saturday, but managed to emerge victorious with a 2-1 score despite playing with 10 men in the last few minutes.

Thursday was a big night for Olympiakos that defeated visiting West Ham in Piraeus for the Europa League, while AEK and Panathinaikos went down to French opposition. PAOK snatched victory in Scotland for the Conference League.

Olympiakos is the only team in the Super League to have three wins in as many rounds of games, after downing visiting Lamia on Sunday, while AEK and Panathinaikos bounced back from their Champions League elimination to score road wins.

Olympiakos made an emphatic visit to Tripoli on Wednesday to trounce host Astreras, while rival PAOK suffered a reverse at Atromitos on Thursday in one of the best matches so far this season in the Super League.

Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden finished off a brilliant team move as his side saw off Olympiakos 1-0 away from home on Wednesday to book its place in the Champions League's last 16.

Kostas Fortounis granted Olympiakos victory over Panathinaikos in the Derby of Eternal Rivals on Sunday, to keep the Reds at the top of the Super League table alongside Aris, that also keeps winning.
