Kiril Petkov, co-chairman of the political party "We Continue the Change" (WCC), has been summoned as a defendant in the case surrounding the arrest of Boyko Borissov, Vladislav Goranov, and Sevdelina Arnaudova. The summons, which was issued today at 5 p.m., marks Petkov's formal involvement in the case, which he has described as a "political attack" aimed at his party.

A meeting between GERB and the "Democratic Bulgaria" (DB) teams marked the beginning of negotiations to form a new government. The discussions, held behind closed doors without media presence, concluded without any statements from the parties.

GERB leader Boyko Borissov Thursday said that his party will not make a coalition with the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), as GERB stated as early as three months ago. Talking to reporters, Borissov said further that the negotiations had proved in an indisputable way that GERB neither asked for support from the MRF nor gave support to that party. 

A recent revelation of a clandestine recording involving key figures of the "We Continue the Change" party has sparked turmoil amid the ongoing election campaign in Bulgaria. The audio, released on the "Afera" website last night, was subsequently confirmed to be authentic by the political party.

The political landscape in Bulgaria has been shaken by explosive allegations surrounding Kiril Petkov, who was Minister of Economy in the 2021 caretaker government. A recent investigative report by the "Bivol" website alleges that Petkov ascended to power in violation of the law, sparking widespread controversy and prompting legal action.

"Nobody doubts that there will be no rotation, right?" This was stated by GERB leader Boyko Borissov on the sidelines of parliament regarding the disagreements with the WCC-DB. According to him, they are doing everything "which is on the record" - changing personnel in ministries, agencies, regulators and "appointing their own people everywhere".
