Britain and Turkey are set to sign a free trade deal on Tuesday, the UK trade ministry said on Sunday, the first since Prime Minister Boris Johnson secured a new trade agreement with the European Union.

The UK and US are discussing a partial trade agreement, which could enter into force on November 1st, a day after the UK is supposed to leave the European Union. This was reported by a senior US administration official, quoted by BTA.

British negotiators are still working out a deal with the European Union, Treasury minister Liz Truss said on Nov. 29, calling reports that the government has agreed a sum of money to pay the Brexit bill "media speculation".

Hundreds more people have been told to leave their homes in northern England on Dec. 27, one day after several hundred people had been evacuated, as weeks of heavy rainfall continue to cause heavy flooding.

Police in the York area 320 kilometers (200 miles) north of London on Dec. 27 advised more than 300 people to leave their homes because of rising river waters.
