BUCHAREST - Serbian FM Marko Djuric met with Romanian FM Luminita Odobescu in Bucharest on Wednesday, thanking Romania for its principled support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia as well as for backing Serbia on the EU path.

BELGRADE - Serbian FM Ivica Dacic spoke by phone on Friday with the FMs of Spain, Romania and Cyprus about bilateral relations and Serbia's EU path.

Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said during his working visit to the US that Romania's entry into the visa-free program will be announced next year, with a deadline of 2025.

The National Executive Committee (CExN) of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) is convening today to discuss designating Romania's new candidate for European Commissioner. The CExN convention is expected to start at 16:00hrs, at the PSD headquarters on Kiseleff Road.

More than anything else, Romania has approached its term at the Presidency of the Council of the EU as a mission in the service of the European citizens, Premier Viorica Dancila said on Friday evening in her address in the opening of the gala concert of the Romanian Youth Orchestra organised at the Romanian Athenaeum to mark the end of Romania's tenure of the EU Presidency.

Romania and its citizens are strongly determined to contribute to the enhancement of the European project, based on the observance of the EU fundamental values and principles, during the period of exercising the Romanian presidency of the Council of the European Union, the permanent representative of Romania to the European Union, Ambassador Luminita Odobescu says in an interview with AGERPRES.

President Klaus Iohannis signed this week several ambassador appointments, giving his seal of approval to journalist and writer Emil Hurezeanu's nomination as Ambassador of Romania to Germany, and to historian, essayist and politician Adrian Cioroianu taking over as Romania's Ambassador and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, the Presidential Administration announced.
