Turkish, Palestinian presidents meet in Istanbul
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas in Istanbul on July 10, Turkey's Communications Directorate said.
The closed-door meeting was held at the Vahdettin Pavilion. Abbas is on a three-day visit to Turkey at Erdoğan's invitation.

Turkey rejects Israel’s plan to annex West Bank: Presidential spokesperson
Turkish presidential spokesperson İbrahim Kalın said on May 20 that Ankara rejects Israel's plan to annex the West Bank and called on the international community to show the same approach.
"Turkey rejects and calls on the world to reject any annexation plan by Israel. Occupation is a crime. The annexation of more Palestinian lands is a crime," Kalın said in a tweet.
Palestine no longer bound by Israeli, US accords: Abbas
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on May 19 that the country is terminating all agreements and understandings signed with Israel and the U.S., including on security.
Abbas made the announcement at a Palestinian leadership meeting in Ramallah. The decision came in response to the proposed Israeli annexation of parts of the West Bank.
Palestine thanks Turkey for medical aid
Medical aid from Turkey came at a time when the government needed it the most, Palestinian Authority's deputy foreign minister said April 30.
"This help meets the needs of Palestine in a critical period when the Palestinian budget is inadequate and the economy is negatively affected by the coronavirus outbreak," Ahmad ed-Dijk told Anadolu Agency.

Turkish hospital opens in Gaza Strip
The Palestine-Turkey Friendship Hospital in Gaza began operating as part of efforts to curb the novel coronavirus, Palestine's government said March 31.
Palestinian government spokesman Ibrahim Melhim said President Mahmoud Abbas and his Turkish counterpart,
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, agreed during a telephone call to start operations at the hospital.

Turkey assures Palestine of help to fight coronavirus
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke with his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas over the phone on March 21, reaffirming Turkey's support to Palestine in its fight against the novel coronavirus.
According to a statement by the Communications Directorate, Erdoğan and Abbas held a phone call to discuss recent developments and regional issues.
