Ljubljana – A special book about Milan Kučan, Slovenia’s first president, has been released ahead of his 80th birthday that will be celebrated on Thursday. The publication features 85 impressions of Kučan, including eight by foreign figures.

The Presidency of the Kosovo Assembly has decided to send a proposal to abolish the Specialist Chambers (special court) to the government.

The court has been set up to deal with the alleged war crimes committed by former top ranking members of the KLA ("Kosovo Liberation Army").

This will happen during a plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, Tanjug reported on Monday citing the European Western Balkans website, which said it learned this exclusively.

Man, 19, shot dead by police after knifing and axing seven people in Siberia's oil capital. Reports Siberia Times. 

The shocking attack led to five men and two women aged between 27 and 77 suffering stabbing injuries. A medical source said: 'The wounds vary but mainly they are to the head, neck and stomach.'

Man died after falling from the 14th floor into an elevator shaft in Sofia's residential district Serdika on Friday evening.

The man fell in the shaft after opening the door of the elevator, while the lift was on the upper 15th floor, the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) reports.
