Thousands still marooned after devastating floods in Spain leave 205 dead

Desperation continues to grow in some parts of Valencia on Friday, which have been isolated since devastating floods hit on Tuesday, leaving at least 205 people dead.

Spain's Defense Minister Margarita Robles admitted that some areas remain inaccessible three days after the storm.

Spain to Send Leopard 2 Tanks and Patriot Missiles to Ukraine by June

By the end of June, Spain will deliver another batch of German-made Leopard 2A4 battle tanks to Ukraine, along with Patriot anti-aircraft missiles and other ammunition, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Defense in Madrid, DPA reported.

Defense Secretary Margarita Robles confirmed the delivery during a video conference with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

Spanish soldiers deployed to help fight the new coronavirus outbreak have found elderly patients abandoned, and sometimes dead, at retirement homes, as an ice rink inside a Madrid shopping mall was turned into a temporary morgue to cope with a surge in cases.

The army has been charged with helping to disinfect retirement homes in Spain, one of the countries worst hit by the pandemic.
