The European Union has fined global credit card giant Mastercard 570 million euros ($647 million) for limiting competition between banks offering cheaper payment fees, reports AFP.
EU voucher scheme to boost superfast internet take-up
The European Commission has approved under European Union state aid rules a voucher scheme to support the take-up in Greece of broadband services with download speeds of at least 100 megabits per second.

EU regulators approve power backup schemes
European Union state aid regulators on Wednesday approved power backup schemes in Greece, Germany, France and three other EU countries, saying that these would ensure security supply in the event of blackouts.
The European Commission said the electricity capacity mechanisms comply with the bloc's rules aimed at ensuring a level playing field.

EU clears Greek auction scheme for renewable energy
The European Commission said on Thursday it had approved a Greek auction scheme for the production of renewable electricity, saying it would aid climate targets while preserving competition.
