SOCCER: PAOK announced the hiring of former Partizan Belgrade manager Aleksandar Stanojevic, who signed a three-year contract with the Thessaloniki club on Friday.

Sports Digest: Panathinaikos deducted three points
SOCCER: The Super League disciplinary committee has given PAOK all three points from the abandoned game at Panathinaikos and deduct three points from the Greens' tally in the play-off mini-league and two points from next season's league table. Panathinaikos will also play two home games behind closed doors next season and pay a 41,000-euro fine.

Sports Digest: Green hoopsters thrash AEK
BASKETBALL: Panathinaikos has advanced to the finals of the Basket League after thrashing AEK 105-67 away on Monday to clinch the best-of-five semifinal series 3-1. Olympiakos hosts Aris on Thursday and victory will take the Reds to the finals too.

Sakkari bows out of the Australian Open
Maria Sakkari bid farewell to the Australian Open on Saturday succumbing to in-form Croatian Mirjana Lucic Baroni in the third round of the Grand Slam tournament.
The 20-year-old Greek champion won the first set 6-3 but lost the other two 6-2, 6-3 to bow out of Melbourne after reaching the third round for the first time in her career.

After knocking out Anett Kontaveit in the Australian open, Greek tennis player Maria Sakkari continued her success by disposing of 43rd ranked French player Alize Cornet in 3 sets (7-5, 4-6, 6-1) to advance to the last 32 of the grand slam.
Sakkari advances to third round in Melbourne
Greek tennis champion Maria Sakkari has made it to the third round of the Australian Open after upsetting France's Alize Cornet on Thursday.
Unseeded Sakkari needed two hours and 40 minutes to defeat the board's number 28 player 2-1 set (7-5, 4-6, 6-1) in a tough contest at Court 7 in Melbourne.
