AGERPRES documentary "The Greater Union - 100 Years of Romania" premiers in presence of Crown Custodian Margareta

The AGERPRES documentary "The Greater Union - 100 Years of Romania" on Thursday ran for the first time in the presence of Custodian of the Romanian Crown Margareta and Princess Maria, at a screening hosted by the CinemaPro hall in Bucharest.

AGERPRES Director General Alexandru Giboi said before the screening that the film is "hundred percent about emotions."

Today Is St. Lazar's Day

Today, on April 8th  the Bulgarian Orthodox Church celebrates the traditional St. Lazar's Day, known here as Lazarovden.

 The holiday is celebrated each year on the eight day (last Saturday) before Easter with typical ceremonies called Lazaruvane. The day is a festival devoted to young girls, pastures, fields and woods.

Feast of Orthodoxy in the Stockholm Cathedral

The Feast of Orthodoxy was celebrated in the Saint George Cathedral in Stockholm, in the presence of Metropolitan of Sweden and Scandinavia Kleopas.
The Divine Liturgy was conducted in six languages: Greek, Swedish, Russian, Serbian, French and English. The psalms were sang by the Cathedral’s cantor Dimitrios Kalpakidis and the churche’s byzantine choir.

Romania's Former President Basescu Seeks Moldovan Citizenship

Traian Basescu, Romania's President between 2004 and 2014, is applying for Moldovan citizenship, local media say.

Mediafax, citing sources close to Basescu, reports application of both him and his wife Maria were submitted on March 08, their requests pending approval, according to Romania Insider.
