Minister announces changes to digital inclusion act

Ljubljana – The Government Office for Digital Transformation is drawing up changes to the act on digital inclusion, which introduced digital vouchers for students and the elderly. Under the act adopted under the previous government, most money would go for digital equipment, while this government plans to allocate more money for digital literacy courses.

Bridging digital divide to be Stojmenova Duh’s priority as minister

Ljubljana – Emilija Stojmenova Duh, the candidate for minister of digital transformation, has pledged to build on what has been done well in the field in the past. Committee okays new bill on electronic communications

Ljubljana – The Home Policy Committee has endorsed a bill on electronic communications after an almost identical bill had been voted down over concerns about the independence of Slovenia’s electronic communications agency and provisions seen as being directed against Huawei. Some opposition parties maintain the new bill ebcroaches on the agency’s autonomy.

MPs pass systemic bill to promote digital literacy

Ljubljana – The National Assembly passed on Monday a bill to encourage digital inclusion which is designed to enhance digital development of the economy and the entire society. The centrepiece is a scheme of “digital vouchers” for students and adults over 55 to buy digital devices and attend digital literacy courses.

Bled – The VZMD Slovenian association of small shareholders and Better Finance will organise an investment conference on Monday to discuss ways of encouraging small shareholders to invest more in the capital market. Andrijanič sees digitalisation as key solution for progress

Ljubljana – Presenting his bid to the parliamentary Home Affairs Committee, Mark Boris Andrijanič, the candidate for minister without portfolio for digital transformation, said he would strive to realise as many of the recently unveiled digitalisation proposals as possible. Strategic Council presents first 40 measures for digital decade

Ljubljana – The Strategic Council for Digitalisation presented on Tuesday the first package of measures promoting digitalisation, which the government endorsed at its last week’s session. “These are 40 solutions for the fourth decade of the Slovenian country, which will undoubtedly be a digital one,” said the council’s head Mark Boris Andrijanič.
