Olympiakos scraped past a rigid PAS Giannina defense with a late winner on Sunday, but the weekend's triumph belonged to Panathinaikos that beat Aris away and is back in the mix for a European spot.

Two Andreas Bouchalakis goals saw Olympiakos beat Aris at Thessaloniki on Saturday to go alone on top of the Super League.

The Reds have a near-perfect record of 22 points from eight games, after defeating Aris 2-1 away thanks to goals by Bouchalakis at either side of half-time. Facundo Bertoglio pulled one back for the hosts that have now dropped to fourth, with 19 points.

AEK has moved up to second in the Super League as it defeated OFI away and PAOK drew in Athens with Panathinaikos, while Olympiakos edged even closer to clinching the title mathematically.

The Reds downed Aris 3-1 in Piraeus and need eight more points in as many games to be crowned champion.
