Bulgaria's Ombudsperson Maya Manolova filed a complaint with the Constitutional Court against the requirements of the new Fuel Act, Manolova's office said on 8th of January, reports BNT. 

Ombudswoman Maya Manolova plans to file two constitutional complaints against certain provisions of the water and sewerage law and the law on fuel, she told Nova TV.

A delegation of the Council of Europe's Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) carried out an ad hoc visit to Bulgaria from 10 to 17 December 2018.

MPs finally adopted the bill which, as mothers of disabled children say, had been awaited since 2014 when they first started protests on the issue, reports BNT.

From now on the money for personal care will be transferred from the state's budget to the budget of the Social Care Ministry. The Agency of Social Support shall control the spendings of these funds.

The Ombudsman will refer the postponement of the electronic voting to the Constitutional Court. Maya Manolova gathers ombudsmen from the Balkan countries at a forum in Sofia today, reported the Bulgarian National Television.

Mothers of children with disabilities staged another protest on 2nd of October across the country under the slogan, "The system kills us - the system is blocked." This time they expressed their dissatisfaction with a protest march.

In Sofia, protesters blocked the Eagles Bridge for about an hour and a half and then their march finished in front of the Parliament.
