A freed French hostage says the suspected gunman behind the deadly shooting at the Jewish Museum in Brussels in May was among his Islamic extremist captors in Syria.

Four people suspected of recruiting militants to fight in Syria have been arrested in the Paris region, officials revealed.
"There are people who recruit jihadists. There are as I'm speaking arrests being made. We are acting everywhere. There will be no respite in the fight against terrorists", French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve was quoted by BBC as saying.

Brussels Jewish Museum Gunman Detained, Possible Jihadist Link
A 29-year old French citizen, Mehdi Nemmouche, has been arrested in connection with the shooting at a Jewish museum in Brussels, which left 3 people dead.
The man, who is suspected to be connected to a Syrian jihadist group, was caught on CCTV cameras and later detained at a train station in Marseille, Euronews reported.
