The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has changed the name of the 3.5-kilometer long ??stinye Bay?r?? Street where the posh mall ?stinye Park is located into ?Qatar Street.? At the municipal assembly, despite the objections of the opposition party members, the name ?Qatar Street? was approved with the votes of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) members.

Turkey runs deficit in February due to infrastructure, interest spending: Minister

Turkey's budget deficit hit 2.36 billion Turkish Liras ($900 million) in February due to higher seasonal spending on infrastructure and interest expenditures, Finance Minister Mehmet ?im?ek said March 16.

Turkey's industrial production drops in January, fueling concerns about growth rates

Turkey?s industrial production declined a calendar-adjusted 2.2 percent year-on-year in January, reversing a 2.5 percent increase in the previous month, the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜ?K) showed on March 9.

Seasonally and calendar adjusted industrial production decreased by 1.4 percent compared with the previous month, according to TÜ?K data.
