From today's statements of the members of the Crisis Staff, one can guess in which direction their decision will go, at least judging by what the members of the medical part of the staff said, who are otherwise in favor of stricter measures. Immunologist Dr Srdja Jankovic explained for RTV what, in his opinion, should work and what facilities should be closed.

As Radio Television of Serbia reported, infectologist Mijomir Pelemis, former director of the Infectious Diseases Clinic of the Clinical Center of Serbia and a current member of the government's Crisis Staff for Combating COVID-19 epidemic, was awarded the Order of Karadjordje's Star of the First Degree.

"I kindly ask the citizens, and as of today it has been officially decided, that everyone must report to the health centers first, to do the initial diagnostics there, that is what practically stuck the work in the admission and triage clinics in the hospitals themselves," the director of the Infectious Diseases Clinic said.

NIS, BELGRADE - Four people have died after contracting the H1N1 virus and there are two more suspect cases of H1N1 infection in Serbia, epidemiologist Branislav Tiodorovic, acting director of the Public Health Institute in Nis, southern Serbia, told Tanjug Thursday.

Tiodorovic said Influenza A (H1N1) and A (H3N2) viruses had been confirmed present in the Nis area.

Pregnant woman dies of swine flu complications

BELGRADE -- A five-month pregnant woman has died in the Clinical Center of Serbia (KBS) where she was treated for the H1N1 flu virus, the clinic's director has confirmed.

Dr. Mijomir Pelemis told the daily Politika that the 33-year-old died despite the efforts to save her.
